Meet The Members: Ginger Newcomb

In this month’s ‘Meet The Members’ series, we sat down with Ginger Newcomb, a member of Windham Pilates since 2014 and a superstar in our community.

What made you want to try STOTT Pilates Reformer?

I wanted to add strength training to help build bone density and decided to try Private sessions and then moved into Semi Private Reformer when I was comfortable with the exercises. I also added Gentle Yoga with Danielle and Tai Ji for flexibility and balance work.

What was your first impression of the studio environment?

It was warm, welcoming, and everyone had great energy. I received personal attention and instructors were knowledgeable of each member’s physical condition.

How have your fitness and nutrition goals changed since joining Windham Pilates?

I have always been active while working with walking, good diet, classes did not work with my schedule. I had just retired from working in my 70’s and wanted new challenges. Since joining, I am taking Yoga for Better Balance and Semi Private Reformer weekly and look forward to it every week.

Do you wish you had started Reformer earlier?

Yes. It was clear to me that Reformer improved my physical condition. In May of 2019, I had a partial hip replacement and was able to start driving again 2 months post-surgery. On month 3, I came back to take classes again. It shocked me how quickly my body recovered, but I was determined to get back to doing what I enjoyed prior to surgery.

What is your favorite part about coming to our studio?

I enjoy the challenge I give to myself working out with other great women more fit than me. Susan, owner, and all instructors give individual attention to all. I also take another yoga class, different instructor, all applies to that class also. Thank you all at Windham Pilates
