Recent studies confirm that aerobic and strenght training slow the reate of bone loss in postmenopausal women. After monitoring a group of over 700 women for 20 years, this study demonstrated that both aerobic activity such as cardio classes and weight training enhanced regional bone mineral density. Since half of women over age 45 suffer from osteoporosis, it is imperative that women in this group seek to actively prevent and improve their bone density.
